# Global WYSIWYG Settings
It is very important to disable the WYSIWYG editor within your Luminate Admin Account prior to making edits. Sadly, the WIWIGYG editor if quite old and will try to correct the code it doesn't recognize, even if the code is valid. To minimize the breaks, all code must be edited in source mode. Please follow the steps below the first time you login to ensure that all the code and functionality remain intact.
# Disabling WYSIWYG Editor
To disable the WYSIWYG editor:
- Click on your name in the upper right corner of the screen Hello, [First Name Last Name].
- In the pop up window, locate the option 1. Use WYSIWYG editor for editing HTML.
- The checkbox value must be unchecked.
- If it is checked, uncheck it.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save to save the settings.
- Once these settings are saved, the WYSIWYG editor will always be disabled.
